Pyramid CDC secured a contract with Branch Financial, LLC. to design and administer a Front-end Software Developer Bootcamp. Students are currently participating in an Instructor-led evening curriculum to obtain their Certificate of Completion with Code Academy. Upon completion of the Bootcamp, Branch Financial has agreed to hire six (6) to ten (10) employees as Junior Software Developers at an hourly rate of $25.00.
Over twelve (12) students of the original eighteen (18) participants are currently competing for these positions.
Pyramid CDC's SMARTNet offers basic and
advance software training for those seeking to learn technology.
We customize classes for our students basic and advance software training needs. These classes allows students to improve their skills both in the marketplace and at home. Our basic classes are for individuals who have zero computer knowledge.
Pyramid CDC collaborated with the City of Columbus and new Linden Community Center to provide three (3) senior digital literacy training classes to Linden residents. Over twenty-five (25) residents were able to obtain Digital Literacy Certificates of Completion.
Pyramid CDC secured a contract with AARP Senior Employment Services to administer four (4) three (3) week digital literacy classes to their participants. COVID-19 left many seniors without a means to communicate or connect with their former employer and AARP services.
Ages 11 – 14
SMARTNet developed and administered an IT, Small Business, Sports Management and Graphic Design Summer Camp for youth ages eleven (11) through fourteen (14) at the Milo Grogan Recreation Center. The six (6) hour daily camp took students through a STEM curriculum to understand the various career choices available to them.
Through the Sport Management, Small Business and Graphic Design classes, students successfully designed and organized a Dodgeball Tournament, uniforms and fundraisers. Upon completion of the camp, students received a Proclamation from Columbus City Council, a Dell Laptop and a
Micro Bit Robot Car.
